Lin Shih-Hsiung: MTR Corporation (00066.HK) will submit a proposal for the revitalization of Hung Hom Station and the surrounding land by the end of this year.
Raymond Lin, Director of the Transportation and Logistics Bureau, stated that since last July, the undersea tunnel (Red Tunnel) has been implementing 'EasyPass'. In addition, with the implementation of time-based tolls for the three cross-harbor tunnels since last December, traffic around the Kowloon entrance and exit of the Red Tunnel has been smoother than before. The Highways Department has completed the demolition of toll booths, toll islands, and toll plaza structures of the Red Tunnel. The Transportation Department will utilize the freed-up road space to coordinate with traffic management and road safety needs, and through straightening lanes, further improve traffic flow at the Kowloon entrance and exit of the Red Tunnel, with the related works expected to be completed early next year. The Transportation Department will continue to review the traffic situation and available space in that stretch of road in the future.

MTR (00066.HK) has stated that the installation of automatic platform gates at Kowloon Tong Station on the East Rail Line has been completed, with progress slightly ahead of the original schedule. Kowloon Tong Station is the 10th station out of 13 stations that require platform gate installation to have completed the installation work. In addition, the company is actively advancing the installation of platform gates at stations with larger platform curvatures such as Mong Kok East, Lok Ma Chau, and University Station, aiming to complete them as soon as possible within the next year.
Transport and Logistics Bureau: It is feasible to replace the original heavy rail plan with an intelligent green collective transportation system for the western section of the South Island Line. Planning and design will begin next year.

Future evaluations will include related financial arrangements, optimizing the route further and improving cost efficiency, with the aim to commence detailed planning and design within 2025 and strive to initiate preliminary construction by 2027, in conjunction with the redevelopment plan for Wah Fu Estate.
