Nanjing Port has received its first container ship with the "longest ship dimensions" and "maximum loading capacity."
According to CCTV, on the morning of December 12th, the largest container ship to enter Nanjing Port since its opening, the Panama-flagged "Madi Hongwei," successfully docked at the Longtan Container Terminal, setting a new "dual historical record" for the longest size and maximum loading capacity of container ships entering the port. It is reported that the ship is 208.3 meters long, 29.8 meters wide, and has a deadweight tonnage of 33,715 tons. This voyage sails directly from Europe to Nanjing, raising the maximum container loading capacity of ships entering the port from the current 1,938 TEU (standard containers) to 2,600 TEU. The successful docking signifies that 0.03 million-ton class container ships can regularly enter and exit Nanjing Port.
