This week, Hong Kong stocks initially fell before rising, with the Hang Seng Index increasing by 2.73% over the week, the Hang Seng TECH Index rising by 5.13%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index up by 3.05% during the same period.
Last year, Macau's Gambling mid-game revenue was 172 billion Macau patacas, accounting for over 75% of the overall gaming revenue.
The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau announced that last year, the gross revenue from gaming was 226.782 billion Macau Patacas (same below), of which the gross revenue from VIP baccarat was 54.764 billion Patacas, accounting for 24.1% of the total gross gaming revenue, representing a year-on-year increase of 21%. Last year's gross revenue from VIP baccarat was equivalent to 40.5% of the 135.228 billion Patacas in 2019. After deducting the VIP baccarat revenue from the total gaming revenue, the on-site revenue in Macau last year was 172.018 billion Patacas, accounting for 75.8% of the overall gaming revenue. In terms of the fourth quarter alone, the gross gaming revenue in Macau was 57.42 billion Patacas, reflecting a quarter-on-quarter increase of 3.2.
Macau Financial Intelligence Office: Last year, there were over 3,837 suspicious Gambling transaction reports, an increase of nearly 12% year-on-year.
The Macau Financial Intelligence Office announced that the total number of suspicious transaction reports received last year was 5,245, an annual increase of 13.67%. Among them, the number of suspicious transaction reports received from lucky Gambling operators was 3,837, an annual increase of 11.83%, accounting for 73.2% of the total number of suspicious transaction reports.
The Macao Travel Agency has revised its estimate of the number of visitors to Macao this year, projecting that it may reach a maximum of 39 million people.
According to Macao Radio, the Director of the Macao Tourism Bureau, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, indicated that benefiting from policies such as "one week, one trip" and "one visa, multiple entries" for travel from Zhuhai and the Greater Bay Area to Macao, after a reassessment by the authorities, it is expected that the total number of tourists to Macao this year could reach between 38 million and 39 million, close to the levels of 2019. She also anticipates that during this year’s Spring Festival Golden Week, there will be an average of 0.185 million tourist visits per day, with international tourists accounting for approximately 8,000 visits.

On January 16, Glonghui reported that JPMorgan released a Research Report stating that although the macroeconomic conditions are poor, last year's fourth quarter gambling revenue in Macau was the best in 20 consecutive quarters. Moreover, the current Industry valuation is low, at about 9 times the average EBITDA. Therefore, it focuses on individual stock alpha investment opportunities, continuing to list GALAXY ENT as the preferred stock, followed by MGM CHINA. It is believed that MGM CHINA's market share and EBITDA growth in the fourth quarter will surpass its peers. Currently, JPMorgan's preferred stock order for gambling stocks remains GALAXY ENT, MGM CHINA, WYNN MACAU, SANDS CHINA, along with SJM HOLDINGS and MELCO INT'L DEV.

Sands China (01928.HK) announced a collaboration with British contemporary pop artist Philip Colbert to launch the marine tourism project "Seaside Wonders: The Lobster King's Swim in Macau," which will showcase giant art installations and themed sculptures at five locations in Macau, including the Macau Science Center's waterfront, from now until mid-March. Sands China Vice Chairman Wang Yingwei stated that Macau is a port city surrounded by the sea on three sides, and it is hoped that this exhibition will introduce works from internationally renowned artists to enhance the tourism features along Macau's coastline, promote the local charming coastal scenery, and elevate Macau's unique atmosphere and international status in cultural tourism.
