Kose Corp. - Sharp decline, financial estimates revised downward due to poor performance in China business.
Kose <4922> continues to decline significantly. The company announced its third-quarter financial results the previous day, with cumulative operating profit reaching 18.8 billion yen, an increase of 17.4% compared to the same period last year. However, the full-year financial estimates have been revised downward from the previous 20 billion yen to 18 billion yen, an increase of 12.6% compared to the previous year. The lower-than-expected performance is attributed to the highly profitable China Travel Retail segment falling short of the initial recovery expectations. The background for the downward revision includes recording restructuring costs for the China business, resulting in net profit decreasing from 12.6 billion yen to 8 billion yen, a 31.4% decrease.
