JAL applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for the Japan International Cargo Fuel Surcharge to be effective from December 1, 2024. Based on the average price of jet fuel in October 2024, which was $87.80 per barrel, the fuel index price is set at "above 85.00 but below 90.00", and the surcharge amount will be 62 yen per kilogram (long-distance routes to the Americas and Europe), 37 yen (long-distance routes to Asia), and 33 yen (short-distance routes in Asia). On December 2, 2024 (Monday), ACT FOR SKY will hold the "ACT FOR SKY Symposium ~ Leading the Future Sky: The Frontline of Domestic SAF Development~" at Haneda Airport.
