According to reports, Apple (AAPL.US) plans to launch its own communication chip next year.
"Bloomberg" cites sources indicating that Apple (AAPL.US) plans to launch a series of communication chips that will replace components from its long-time partner and competitor Qualcomm (QCOM.US). Sources reveal that the company plans to introduce its first communication chip in 2025, with a high-end version to follow in 2026. By 2026, Apple aims to bring its capabilities closer to Qualcomm's through its second-generation communication chip, which will start appearing in high-end products. The chip, named Ganymede, is expected to be used in the iPhone 18 series and will be applied to premium versions of the iPad in 2027.
