Waiting for the performance of major technology stocks in the US stock market, the Nasdaq rose 145 points to a new high, and Crocs clogs plunged more than 19%.
The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bonds rose above 4.3%, while the market focused on heavy-weight technology stocks such as Alphabet (GOOG.US) and AMD (AMD.US) releasing their earnings after the market close. The Nasdaq rose 145 points or 0.8% for the day to close at 18,712 points, reaching a new closing high. The Dow fell 154 points or 0.4% for the day to close at 42,233 points; the S&P 500 index rose 9 points or 0.2% to close at 5,832 points. Prior to earnings release, Alphabet closed up 1.7%, Meta (META.US) rose 2.6%. Earnings stocks remain the market focus.
