Food Delivery M&A: Wonder Group Confirms Deal for Grubhub
Europe's food delivery giant sold its American subsidiary for 0.65 billion US dollars, spending 7.3 billion US dollars on acquisitions that year.
Wonder Group Inc. announced on Wednesday that it will acquire the largest takeaway company in europe, Just Eat Takeaway, for approximately $0.65 billion, selling its usa subsidiary Grubhub to Wonder Group for $0.65 billion, a price much lower than the $7.3 billion it spent to acquire Grubhub at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. Just Eat stated in a declaration on its website that the trade is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025. The company anticipates a net profit of up to 500 million from this transaction.
