Jia Yueting: More than 2 billion dollars of debt remaining, returning to the country is in sight.
Former LeEco and Faraday Future founder Jia Yueting recently appeared via video at the China Enterprise Leaders Annual Conference held in Peking, responding to concerns about his "return to China". He revealed that he guaranteed over 10 billion USD in debts for LeEco and currently owes around 2 billion USD. According to his agreement with creditors, as long as he pays off 40% of it, which is about 0.7 or 0.8 billion USD, in a Chinese court to complete the debt repayment, he can return to China. Jia also disclosed that he had faced global debt collection efforts from creditors, underwent in-depth investigations by US courts, and even every pair of socks at home was counted.
