South Korea's leading battery producer, LG Energy Solution Ltd., announced on Tuesday that it is considering acquiring General Motors' stake in its joint battery plant in Michigan. LG Energy stated in a release: "The company is considering acquiring Ultium Cells LLC's joint venture No. 3 plant in Lansing, Michigan, to efficiently operate its plants in the USA and maximize the utilization of the Michigan plant." This joint venture with General Motors is under construction in Michigan, aiming to commence operation next year. General Motors also announced.
