Citi recommends starting to acquire high-quality utility dividend stocks and upgrading CLP (00006.HK) to "shareholding".
JPMorgan released a report indicating that with the current market volatility and the possibility of the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates for the first time in the fourth quarter, it is recommended that investors begin to accumulate high-quality utility stocks. The bank has upgraded CLP Holdings Limited (00006.HK) from 'Neutral' to 'Shareholding' due to its yield of about 7%, which is 1 standard deviation higher than the historical average. If the expected rate cut is rekindled, its yield is estimated to decline. The bank expects clearer results in the second half of the year for CLP's two regulated assets (SA Power Network and Northumbrian Water) and expects returns.
