According to reports, Hershey (HSY.US) rejected the acquisition proposal from Mondelez International (MDLZ.US) due to the low quote.
"Bloomberg" reported that the controlling shareholders of the USA chocolate manufacturer Hershey (HSY.US) rejected the preliminary acquisition offer from Mondelez International (MDLZ.US), stating that the bid was too low. Mondelez's stock price recently rose by about 3%, while Hershey's fell by 3%. Additionally, Mondelez approved a share buyback authorization of up to 9 billion dollars on Wednesday and stated its commitment to its capital allocation priorities, including reinvestment in its brand and focusing on a strategy for acquiring supplementary assets.
