USA crude oil fell 2.3% on Monday as OPEC lowered global demand expectations.
At early hours on the 15th Beijing time, the USA WTI crude oil futures price dropped by 2.3% on Monday. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) lowered its crude oil demand expectations for 2024 for the third consecutive time, putting pressure on oil prices. The November delivery WTI futures price on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell by $1.73, a decrease of 2.29%, closing at $73.83 per barrel. The December delivery Brent crude oil futures price on the Intercontinental Exchange Europe dropped by $1.58, a decrease of 2%, closing at $77.46 per barrel. OPEC released a report on Monday predicting the global crude oil demand for 2024.

Bullish bets on crude oil product are staking on the largest increase since 2018.
Last week, following Iran's missile attack on Israel, oil prices surged, and investment funds made the biggest bullish bet on Brent crude prices since 2018. According to the weekly report released by the Intercontinental Exchange, last week saw a net increase of 0.139 billion barrels equivalent in long positions held by hedge funds, exchange traded funds, and other speculators. These numbers differ from the position data of significant interest required by U.S. reports and are based on EU regulations. After Iran's missile attack on Israel, Brent crude oil futures jumped approximately $6 last week. Subsequently, speculative traders accumulated record net short bets in the market.

Crude oil in the usa rose by 3.7% on Monday, with the market focusing on the development of the situation in the Middle East.
In the early hours of Monday, Beijing time, crude oil futures in the usa rose by 3.7%. As Israel claims it will "take all measures" to retaliate against Iran, the market closely watches the increasingly tense situation in the Middle East. The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures for November delivery on the New York Commodity Exchange rose by $2.76, or 3.71%, to close at $77.14 per barrel, breaking through the 100-day moving average and the 200-day moving average (currently at $74.51 and $74.90 respectively). It approaches the closing price of $77.37 on August 12 and $81.32 on July 3.
