L'Oréal acquires South Korean skincare brand Dr.G's parent company Gowoonsesang Cosmetics.
L’Oréal announced that it has signed an agreement with Swiss Franc retail group Migros to acquire the South Korean skincare brand Dr.G's parent company, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics. Dr.G will become part of L’Oréal's Consumer division, and the Trade is expected to be completed within several months after obtaining regulatory approval. Alexis Perakis-Valat, Global President of L’Oréal's Consumer division, expressed great pleasure in welcoming Dr.G to the L’Oréal family, having followed Dr.G's development for many years and looking forward to the brand accelerating its growth in South Korea and globally.

In the third quarter, L'Oreal's sales increased by 2.8% year-on-year, with a growth rate of less than half of the second quarter. The largest business of mass cosmetics sales growth has turned from positive to negative; the same-store sales decline in the North Asia region is close to three times that of the second quarter, but Japan's beauty business ranks first overseas, partly driven by tourists from China and other regions.
