Southeast Asia's leading personal financial conglomerate, MoneySmart Group, has announced that it has rejected the non-binding acquisition offer from MoneyHero Group. The board of directors of MoneySmart unanimously believes that the acquisition offer is neither serious nor credible, and therefore will not accept it. MoneyHero, a subsidiary of Power Assets Holdings (00008.HK), entered into an agreement with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Bridgetown, jointly owned by Adrian Cheng and Peter Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal, in October last year.
