Sanofi plans to invest up to $1.6 billion to upgrade its factory in Germany.
According to German Business Daily, French pharmaceutical company Sanofi is about to decide to invest 1.3 billion to 1.5 billion euros (about 1.4 billion to 1.6 billion US dollars) in a large production base in Frankfurt, Germany, to produce insulin Lantus. The report cited German government sources as saying that Sanofi changed its route after initially considering moving Lantus production to France, and the company is now close to committing to upgrading its German factory in the Hürth district of Frankfurt.
