The Chief Justice of the Delaware Court of Chancery, Kathaleen McCormick, has approved the appeal by USA billionaire Elon Musk and Tesla (TSLA.US) to the Delaware Supreme Court regarding the attempt to restore the compensation plan in which Tesla would pay Musk $56 billion. Tesla shareholder Richard Tornetta initiated a lawsuit in 2018 seeking to revoke the related compensation plan. Justice McCormick rejected the new compensation plan in January of this year, describing its scale as 'incomprehensible' and stating that the plan violated the fiduciary duty to investors. Tesla shareholders voted in favor of this in June.
