Ubisoft Shareholders in Talks Over Possible Buyout, Reuters Says, Citing Sources
Ubisoft has decided to stop developing the free first-person shooter game "XDefiant".
On December 4, Glonghui reported that Ubisoft, the largest game publisher in France, announced on Wednesday that it has decided to stop developing the free first-person shooter game "XDefiant." As a result, Ubisoft will close its production studios in San Francisco and Osaka, and reduce production in Sydney, leading to the layoff of 143 positions in San Francisco, while Osaka and Sydney may see 134 layoffs. Ubisoft stated that half of the XDefiant team members globally will take on other roles within the company. Ubisoft mentioned in a statement that this decision was made after a comprehensive assessment of the game's performance, profitability, and market conditions.
