During the Olympic Games, more than 0.015 million Hong Kong tourists visited France, with a total consumption of over 21 million US dollars, equivalent to about 0.163 billion Hong Kong dollars. Compared with the average monthly figures in the past 12 months, the number of Hong Kong visitors to France and the amount of consumption have increased by more than 110% and nearly 80% respectively. Visa indicated that Hong Kong cardholders have an average daily expenditure of over $230, equivalent to about 1,800 Hong Kong dollars, during an average six-day Olympic journey, making it the highest daily consumption in the Asia-Pacific region.
