Update: Market Chatter: AT&T, Verizon Say Networks Secured After China-linked Salt Typhoon Cyberattack
The American telecom companies AT&T and Verizon have admitted to being hacked.
On December 30, the Financial Alliance reported that two wireless network operators in the USA, AT&T and Verizon, acknowledged being attacked by hackers but stated that the current USA network is secure after collaborating with law enforcement and government officials to respond. An AT&T spokesperson mentioned that although only a few instances of information leakage were discovered, the company is monitoring and repairing the network to protect customer data and continues to work with authorities to assess and mitigate threats.
