Wayfair (W.US) is exiting the German market and plans to lay off 730 employees.
Online housewares company Wayfair (W.US) announced on Friday that it plans to exit the German market and plans to lay off up to 730 employees, about 3% of its global workforce, to focus on new growth drivers such as physical retail. The company's CFO Kate Gulliver stated that the intention is to realign investment priorities and hopes that other initiatives like physical retail will yield better returns. She added that about half of the affected employees would have the option to stay on if they were willing to relocate to London, Boston, or other locations where the company operates.
