The USA has sued Walmart and the CNI Xiangmi Lake Fintech Index company for allegedly opening illegal accounts for delivery drivers.
On December 24th, Gelonghui reported that the USA Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced on Monday that Walmart and its fintech partner Branch Messenger are suspected of opening expensive bank accounts for delivery drivers without their consent, resulting in losses of over 10 million dollars in fees. The lawsuit states that Walmart has informed drivers in its Spark Driver program that they will be fired unless they are paid through designated branch accounts.
