The USA has sued Walmart (WMT.US) and a CNI Xiangmi Lake Fintech Index company for illegally opening accounts for delivery drivers.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in the USA stated on Monday that Walmart (WMT.US) and its fintech partner Branch Messenger are accused of opening expensive bank accounts for delivery drivers without their consent, resulting in more than $10 million in fees. The lawsuit claims that Walmart has told drivers in its Spark Driver program that they will be fired unless they receive wages through designated branch accounts.
