The company stated that according to the latest internal estimate, this quarter must include additional expenses related to acquisitions, patent agreements, and joint research, totaling $937 million. The latest estimate by the group is that the adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter is expected to be between $2.53 and $2.57, previously $3.05 to $3.09; the adjusted earnings per share for this year will be between $10.61 and $10.81, previously $11.1.
