According to the BBC report, Coca-Cola (KO.US) has recalled beverages across Europe due to their high levels of the chemical chlorate. The company stated that this recall mainly targets Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, and added that only five product lines have been shipped to the United Kingdom and have been sold. The report cited a Coca-Cola spokesperson stating that independent expert analyses concluded that any related risks to consumers are very low. Coca-Cola mentioned that it has not received any consumer complaints in the United Kingdom and has alerted the authorities about the matter, and will continue to cooperate with them.
