Globe News on January 10 | According to Reuters, The Kroger agreed to pay $0.11 billion to resolve a lawsuit in Kentucky. The lawsuit alleges that the chain's pharmacies dispensed hundreds of millions of addictive painkillers to its Community, contributing to the deadly opioid crisis. Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced on Thursday that the state has chosen not to participate in a broader $1.4 billion settlement agreement that The Kroger reached last year, which addressed similar claims from 30 states, as well as counties, cities, and tribes in the Americas.
