A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the news about the layoffs but declined to disclose the specific number of layoffs. The spokesperson stated that Microsoft will focus on high-performing talent and will take appropriate action when an employee underperforms. When employees leave due to performance issues, Microsoft usually refills those vacancies, so the overall employee count may not change significantly. As of the end of June last year, Microsoft had approximately 0.228 million employees.
