Raytheon has been awarded a $1.2 billion USD contract by the US Department of Defense for AMRAAM missiles. The missiles will be supplied to foreign countries such as Ukraine, japan.
The US Department of Defense issued a statement on September 12th stating that Raytheon, an American company, has been awarded a contract worth nearly $1.2 billion to supply AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles and its related equipment. The statement said, 'Raytheon Company in Tucson, Arizona, was awarded the contract for approximately $1.196 billion at a fixed price.' The statement also mentioned that this contract includes supplying the missile to foreign countries, including Ukraine, Bulgaria, Japan, and Hungary. It is expected that production under this contract will be completed by the end of 2028.
