Five European budget airlines in Europe were fined €0.179 billion for additional charges in Spain.
On November 25, according to CCTV Finance, the Spanish consumer protection agency imposed a fine of 0.179 billion euros (approximately 1.35 billion yuan) on five low-cost airlines, including Europe's largest low-cost carrier Ryanair and easyjet plc sponsored adr from the united kingdom, for additional charges related to passenger carry-on baggage. Among them, Ryanair was fined the highest amount, reaching approximately 0.108 billion euros (about 0.815 billion yuan). In response, the Spanish Airlines Association stated it would appeal, claiming the fine is "clearly illegal" and violates EU regulations.
