Gelonghui October 31st | A spirit airlines spokesperson stated that around 330 pilots will be taking leave on January 31, 2025, as part of efforts to reduce costs and strengthen financial conditions. Despite strong travel demand, this ultra-low-cost airlines has been operating at a loss. The company has failed to report a profit in the past six quarters, raising investor doubts about its ability to manage upcoming debts. Last month, the airline had already arranged for 186 pilots to take leave. The spokesperson mentioned that the company will also demote 120 captains to first officers on January 31.
